Waterworks is part of an ongoing series of works that began while at residencies, away from my family and home. It is a consideration of the work involved in motherhood, the work of being an artist, and how to work at both. In this series, I complete different durational tasks with a 5-gallon bucket of water filled with an amount that weighs the same as my young daughter. For two of the videos included, I filled the bucket and held it for as long as I could until the weight began to hurt my back and the handle dug into my hands. In the third, I move the water from bucket to bucket until I could no longer.
