We do not ride the railroad; it rides upon us. II is the second iteration of a video triptych that uses a series of one minute video studies taken of the Kansas sky from 2023. As the camera is recording, a train passes by, extending the length of the video to capture the time it takes for the train to pass and consider the place of the train within the natural environment. This is also suggested by the title, a quote from Henry David Thoreau, that questions the influence of technology on society.
